About

OWC started from the passion of a frustrated, obsessive compulsive ex-finance guy and car fanatic. OWC was originally the Orange Watch Company, but due to some trademarking issues we were forced to change the name. OWC is export focused, owned by Dan Fock M.Acc and is situated in the rural town of Orange NSW, AUSTRALIA. We are some 900m above sea level and about 300km from the east coast. Orange is becoming famous for cool climate wines and watches.

Dan has a Dutch background going back a long time. More recently Willem Hugo Fock (c.1863-1948) started the watchmaking tradition in the early part of the 20th century, having studied Horology in Belgium and it is rumored that a Fock Clock is in a museum somewhere in Holland. We do, however, have his apprentice piece.

Making watches is difficult and making watches that appeal to more than your mates or some friends is even more difficult.

Born out of economic necessity we made the ISO range of watches – In the Spirit Of. The ODC Watches (OWC Design Concept) will follow. The ISO range would provide a strong, recognisable landmark design of quality. This will establish OWC as a competent maker. Then we could follow our indulgences.

"Less is More". So what we have done is distilled the essence of good and classic design into the ISO watches. Our watches are not fussy, there are no excessive amounts of text, and they are an expression of form and function. OWC watches are clean, fit for purpose, have mechanical movements and good water resistance - simple.
